Biocontrol introduction

Target pest: Chromatomyia syngenesiae (Diptera: Agromyzidae) = Phytomyza atricornis, leaf miners

Agent introduced: Hemiptarsenus varicornis (Hymenoptera: Eulophidae) = Hemiptarsenus semialbiclavus (Girault)

Imported: Introduced as Hemiptarsenus semialbiclavus. Probably in New Zealand before deliberate importations began.

Release details: 1970-71 released at Lincoln, Canterbury, (653) and Ashburton, Mid-Canterbury, (100).

Establishment: Appears to have established in New Zealand before it's deliberate introduction.
