Cameron et al. (1989) - in 1965, two male and four female R. amoena, collected in Europe, were sent to New Zealand from the UK. Only a single male resulted from insectary oviposition. In 1967, 24 males and 21 females arrived, and in 1968, 14 males and 17 females. Only a few progeny were obtained from insectary rearing which continued until 1971.
