Post-application processes
After the application has been submitted and notified, the following steps take place:
- Public submissions on the application: there will be a deadline by which submissions from stakeholders and the public must be received. The submission period is 30 working days.
- Staff Assessment Report: this is a report prepared by the EPA which will be made available to the applicant and submitters from the EPA website [http://www.epa.govt.nz/Pages/default.aspx].
- A public hearing will be held before the Authority if any submitter states that they wish to be heard.
- A Decision will be reached by the Authority and the applicant will be notified within 30 working days following a consideration.
